Andre Curbelo gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSN

Andre Curbelo (183-G-2001) put on an amazing game in the last week for league's leader Atleticos de San German and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 2.
The 24-year old guard had a double-double of 37 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Guaynabo (#3, 2-2) 80-77. It allowed Atleticos to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSN. San German have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Curbelo had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Atleticos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Southern Mississippi graduate has very impressive stats this year. Curbelo is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.4rpg), assists (8th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 52.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American guard Derrick Walton Jr. (185-G-1995) of second-ranked Capitanes de Arecibo. Walton Jr. impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 11 assists. Of course Capitanes cruised to a 110-102 relatively comfortable win over Ponce (2-4). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next week. Walton Jr. is one of the most experienced players at Arecibo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last week was American Travis Trice II (183-PG-1993) of second-ranked Criollos de Caguas. Trice II scored 25 points and passed 12 assists (!!!). He was a key player of Criollos, leading his team to a 90-86 win against Santurce (#6, 1-3). Caguas started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game in Group B. Trice II turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Trice II has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.3ppg (2nd best) and assists with 9.0apg (best passer).

5. Rigoberto Mendoza (191-SG-1992) of Aguada - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Diego Pellot (185-G-2001) of Arecibo - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Tyler Davis (208-C-1997) of Manati - 17 points and 8 rebounds
8. Montrezl Harrell (203-C-1994) of San German - 15 points and 16 rebounds
9. Moses Brown (218-C-1999) of Caguas - 19 points and 10 rebounds
10. Jack McVeigh (203-F-1996) of Arecibo - 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
